Spread Some Festive Cheer With Our ESF Christmas Card
This year’s ESF Christmas card perfectly captures the joy of the holiday season, thanks to the talent and imagination of seven-year-old Colette Lee from ESF Sha Tin Junior School.
“I was surprised, happy, and very proud to be chosen out of all of the entries from across our 22 ESF schools,” says Colette, whose fantastic design shows a jolly snowman, a star-topped tree, and brightly wrapped gifts on a snow-dusted doorstep.
“The red door represents ESF and Christmas,” Colette told us. “Behind the door is a home – a warm and welcoming place, just like our school.”
Our Chief Executive Officer Belinda Greer selected Colette’s artwork as part of our annual ESF-wide competition, which attracted a diverse range of expressive entries – including paintings, drawings, collages, and illustrations – from our youngest learners in kindergarten to our senior secondary school students.
“I was highly impressed by the creativity, thoughtfulness, and skill shown in Colette’s heartwarming design,” says Belinda. “Her artwork beautifully embodies the spirit of Christmas and reflects the sense of belonging which is at the heart of our ESF community. Congratulations to Colette and to all our talented students who participated in this year’s art challenge.”
ESF Sha Tin Junior School Principal Rehana Shanks also shared her pride, saying: “It is a great start to the festive season, and I am so happy for Colette. Her achievement is a wonderful reflection of her passion for art.”
Colette used watercolour and acrylic paint to create the different textures in her excellent artwork and was inspired by her wish to see snow, and someone building a snowman.
She told us that her favourite part of learning art at school is “having the freedom to explore and create” – a sentiment that will make all of her teachers feel very proud.
We hope you enjoy sharing this joyful card with your community.
