South Island School (SIS) originated as a nucleus of additional classes to Island School in 1977. In 1978, SIS moved to 5 Eastern Hospital Road near Causeway Bay, opposite the British Army Sports Ground. In 1983, the school moved to its present site at Nam Fung Road with 800 students and 52 teachers. Today, SIS is a high school catering to 1,400 students 11-18 years of age. It enjoys a beautiful green location on the south side of Hong Kong Island.
